Tulips for Sue Anne

Wow...Did Lela and I have a great time at Dows Lake looking at the Tulips during our 10k bike ride along the Canal. We saw musicians, buskars and there were lots of people food and drink. This is going on for a couple of weeks and next weekend we are going to other locations. Thanks to the Dutch for remembering Canada's liberation effort. This gift is very much appreciated by everyone. Thank you.

It was on Parliament Hill that Canada first began its love affair with the tulip. It was here, in 1945, that Canada planted some of the 100,000 tulip bulbs given by Holland as a ‘thank you‘ for providing safe haven for members of the Dutch Royal Family, as well as for the role played by Canadian Veterans during the Second World War. Five decades later, the Canadian Tulip Festival has become the largest tulip festival in the world. Capital Infocentre, operated by the NCC, is your starting point for your visit to Canada’s Capital Region. It’s where youíll find all the information you will need to fully enjoy your Tulip Experience.

The Canadian Tulip Festival and Tulip Explosion are thrilled to host the XXIII Annual World Flower Council Summit from May 18 to 22 as part of the Tulip Explosion celebrations. The Summit will be the focus of the third weekend of Tulip Explosion and will feature 150 delegates from over 30 countries, with international flower designers participating in exhibitions, demonstrations and workshops. Your Tulip Experience Passport will grant you access to Tulip Explosion, the exhibits of the World Flower Council Summit and scores of impressive floral displays. So there you go Sue Anne lots of tulips just for you:
